Crewpot

Terms of use

Last updated: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}

These are the ground rules for using Crewpot. Short version: be decent to your mates, don't misuse the app, and remember it keeps score but doesn't move money.

1. Who we are and what this covers

Crewpot ("the app", "we") is operated by Ricki Taiaroa, {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}. By using the app or website you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use it. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13.

2. What the app does, and doesn't

Crewpot records who paid for what on a trip and works out who owes whom. It is not a bank, payment service, money transmitter or financial adviser. It never holds, sends or receives money. Any payments happen outside the app, between you and your friends, using whatever method you choose. Balances, currency conversions and receipt readings are tools to help; exchange rates are indicative, and AI receipt reading can be wrong, so check amounts before saving and before paying. Bank details shown in a trip were typed by people on that trip: confirm them with the person before sending money.

3. Accounts and trip links

You can join and use a trip with just its link. Creating and organising trips needs an account, which you open with an email sign-in link. Keep your email account secure; anyone who can read your sign-in emails can sign in as you. Anyone with a trip's link can see that trip, so share links only with people you want in it.

4. Crewpot Plus: pricing, subscriptions and refunds

5. Your content

You keep ownership of what you put in (expenses, comments, photos, names). You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run the app, including showing it to others on the same trip and sending receipt images or text to AI providers as described in the privacy policy. You promise you have the right to upload what you upload and that you have the OK of people whose names or details you add.

Don't use the app to harass or shame people, upload unlawful or harmful material, include other people's financial details without permission, scrape or overload the service, probe for other people's trip links, or interfere with its security. We may remove content or suspend access where these terms are broken.

6. Ending things

You can delete your account any time in the app (Profile, Account, Delete account). What is deleted and what stays on shared trips is explained in the privacy policy. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Crewpot running but it is provided "as is" and "as available". Features, including AI features, may change, be limited, or be unavailable at times. We may update these terms; if the change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email, and continuing to use the app means you accept it.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or for disputes or losses between you and other people on a trip (including wrong, out-of-date or fraudulent bank details, or someone not paying). Our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your rights as a consumer under local law (for example the Australian Consumer Law, NZ Consumer Guarantees Act, or EU/UK consumer law) are not affected.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of {{GOVERNING_LAW}}, and its courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have to use your local courts.
